Feels like Fall

Just as it's starting to feel like Fall outside, I've started to spruce up the house with some Fall decor. Last weekend I worked on adding a little Fall to our lanterns: a few leaves, a pumpkin and an acorn and they were good to go.

Once again, I can't get the image to flip!
It helped too that everything Fall related is 40% off at Hobby Lobby right now. I've been wanting to add something homey to our front door, but haven't seen anything I like, or that isn't too expensive. I opted for a wooden "R", some black spray paint, and orange and black ribbon. After a bit of primer, and the spray paint I came up with this:
I decided to use a magnetic hook instead of an over-the-door hook, to keep the door from getting scratched. Drew suggested putting some of the felt pads you put on the bottom of chairs on the back of the R to keep it from making marks on the door if it swings from the wind or the door being opened and closed.

What is great about this door decor is I can update the ribbon as the seasons change. Plus, I can always tie on a little acorn or bell to jazz it up a bit for Thanksgiving and Christmas. And, the whole thing cost me less than $10.

And yes, that is an angel to the left of the door. One of Drew's friends left it on our porch as a joke and it's way too heavy for me to move myself. I need to get the dolly to move it to the back, somewhere! It's a little creepy out front. Drew suggested putting a costume on it, but I thought that might be a bit inappropriate - it is an angel!
