Girls Weekend

After over a year of telling friends I would visit Chicago I finally made the trip. One of my sorority sisters had her bachelorette party up there and the date seemed to fit in perfectly with my schedule. I am back on overnights/mornings and was able to make the drive after I got off my shift Saturday morning. It was so good to join in on Lauren's wedding fun. I haven't seen her since graduation. She is from Oklahoma and currently lives in Texas - hence the cowgirl theme.
Of course, there was a kite picture of all the Thetas who attended the bash!During my trip I stayed with my great friend Emily Rose (she, Lauren and I lived together senior year). The best part, I was able to go with Emily when she picked up her wedding dress and I finally got to try on the bridesmaid dresses she picked out. Sorry, no pictures of those, but I can promise you, Emily looks like a princess and the bridesmaid dresses are fantastic.
Those two future brides weren't the only lucky ladies I got to see. I had brunch with another Theta, Katie, or Bolen for some of you reading this ;) and my high school friend Beth. Beth has been in Chicago for the last two years, but she moved into a new apartment (on Michigan Ave.)the day before I got there. She showed me around her beautiful bachelorette pad and took me all around the city. (Don't worry we walked! But, she had to drive me back to Emily's place.)
I was thoroughly impressed with the food options. Emily took me to a restaurant with a great gluten free menu. I stuck with sushi and a salad the first evening, but the next night I begged to go back because I was craving pizza! I couldn't believe all of the gluten free items they had available from brushetta, to pizza to all different kinds of sandwiches. I have never had that many options.
I always have a great time with those girls. Hopefully it won't be such a long gap from now until the next time I see them. Speaking of gaps, I will get better at updating this blog too. I know it's been nearly a month since my last post. I will try to take some pictures at tonight's kickball game and there will definitely be some good ones on my upcoming trip to Florida!
